Are you one of those people that will not return to places due to rude service? I am and I had an experience on last week that was unforgettable.
I was rushing on my way to the pool and called in at the bakery to get my milk and bread. There was a man in front of us who was taking his time, was really slow and taking the attention of the person serving without realising that there was a queue behind.
Can you guess what happened next?
The person serving gave him special treatment, like he was the only person that existed in that moment – she got his coffee and took it to his table and settled him in his place. She called him by name and ensured that he was seen and heard, despite the rest of us waiting.
She was magnificent, it was heart warming to see that they both connected and when she apologised for the wait, I commented that it was so wonderful to see the care and community that can result from kind connected interactions.
A great reminder that we can forget to connect and are too busy focusing on the next place to get to or what else we need to do. I loved this Bakery already but love it even more now because of how they were with a vulnerable person who needed a bit of care.
