Fuelling the Fire!

I’m Over It!

The Big Test

I wonder if you have noticed that I have been very quiet (silent in fact) lately and without making excuses or having to justify all of the things I have been doing, lets just say I was starting to lose myself in the sea of overwhelm due to burning the candle at both ends.

It was like my fire had been smothered and I was struggling to keep the slightest little spark alive, something that is very important when I spend my days helping others. So I made the decision to sit back on the social media for a while, not realising it would be a month it has really been a lifesaver and I hate to think what would have happened to the pressure cooker if I hadn’t.

I have managed to get through the forest and gather some more kindling ready to get it all started again. The great thing is that because I let some things ride it allowed me the creative space and energy to be doing the other things in my life well rather than struggling through the thick smoke and things not being as I wanted them. Instead, I was able to have my firey passion come to the fore by being present to what I was doing rather than what else I had to do. And that is only a good thing for the art therapy students, my clients and the groups that I have been running lately.

I am sure you can relate to those times in your life where you need to take one thing at a time and in order to get through the bucket loads of things to do is to let something go. This has been the case for me over the past few weeks. I sometimes put pressure on myself to do it all but I have taken my own advice and let some things wait and I feel so much better for it.

So this weeks (or months!) message is to give yourself a break sometimes and not feel like you have to do it all, all the time. It’s ok to let something go for a while so that everything else falls into place. I have some exciting things in the pipeline and need that fire in my belly to make it all come to fruition.

I will let you know about some of the Ignite news later in the week, so stay tuned… I think the fire is about to burn!

Its nice to be back
