When I was about 9 or 10 years old, I drove the ute to be filled with petrol – yes you learn young on the farm! It was a petrol tank where you pump the handle and the fuel syphons through – unbeknownst to me the rubber tubing had split from being in the sun too long. As the fuel came through, it shot out straight into my eyes and let me tell you it certainly did not tickle. I was screaming to the farm house that was about 100 metres away – absolutely screaming as I couldn’t open my eyes to drive myself back there and it was stinging like nothing else.

My mum came rushing down but the funny bit is she came with a gun!
That seems random but she thought I was saying I was petrified rather than ‘I’ve got petrol in my eyes’ and assumed that there was a snake nearby. Yes I was definitely scared of snakes and she came prepared to do some damage but the situation was a little different to what she expected. Regardless of whether it was a snake or not, I was frozen, couldn’t see and I needed assistance.

There are times when we need help, we can’t do it alone and that’s why I value what I do so much. I never know what is going to come up in a session but one things for sure I am prepared for what ever needs to be expressed and value holding space for my clients to gain clarity to navigate this thing called life.

By the way Mum whipped me into the car drove frantically back to the house, got me in the shower to spend ages washing out my eyes – thankfully it turned out all right and there was no snake to be seen.

If you would like more clarity, come and have a 1:1 session or book into my whole day event Create Your 2020 Vision where you will look at 2019, take the learnings, break through the barriers and see what you want to achieve in 2020.
